Our Vision

In the spirit of Hebrews 10:24 and James 1:27, our vision is to develop a community of faith-filled women and to motivate this community toward “acts of love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24), caring for children, young people, and parents who are vulnerable and “in distress” (James 1:27).

More specifically, we join in support of OCM’s vision to:

  • Provide Transitional Housing Services for young women and young mothers in DuPage County who are homeless. Our Vision is to help OCM double its housing capacity at Jubilee Village (for young mothers and their children) and at the Hawthorne Homes (for young women) as soon as possible. Through this dynamic and very successful ministry, young women are given a second chance to finish high school, further their education, develop careers, and prepare for life as independent and successful adults.
  • Develop faith-based Community Counseling Centers in each of the five communities that OCM is active in. Our Vision is to help OCM expand its capacity at its three current Centers and develop two new Centers where experienced counselors, case managers, and volunteers provide support and counsel to individuals and families who are at risk and in distress.
  • Enhance Children and Youth Services at OCM’s Neighborhood Resource Centers for children and teens who are vulnerable. These services enable children and youth to reach their God-given potential by restoring hope and providing opportunities to succeed at education, develop character, and form a relationship with God. Our Vision is to support the expansion of youth services at the two Neighborhood Resource Centers that OCM currently operates (in Carol Stream and Warrenville), and to help it develop similar youth ministries in two more communities where it is active – Wheaton and West Chicago.
